Frequently Asked Questions

Which driving program is right for my student?

It depends on the student’s age, permit status, and driving experience. Teens usually need the 38-hour Driver’s Ed Course. Adults 18 and older usually need the 14-hour Driver’s Ed Course. Students who have already completed classroom training may only need behind-the-wheel training or a road skills test.

Does my student need a TIP card before class?

Yes. Students signing up for the 38 Hour Teen Driver’s Ed Course or the 14 Hour Adult Driver’s Ed Course must get a Temporary Instructional Permit, also called a TIP card, before the first day of class.

Do you offer road skills testing?

Yes. Magnolia Driving Academy is a state-approved road skills testing site in Louisiana. Road skills tests are available even if the student has completed driver education at another school.

What if my student is nervous about driving?

That is normal. Magnolia Driving Academy uses a calm, patient teaching style to help new drivers build confidence, understand real road situations, and improve one step at a time.

What areas do you serve?

Magnolia Driving Academy serves Gonzales, Prairieville, Dutchtown, St. Amant, and the Ascension Parish area.
